Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher
Mikki Leung is a Grade 1 teacher at ISNS and a mother. Mikki is from Ontario, Canada, and has earned an undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Korea for 1 year to teach EFL, an experience that sparked her love of teaching internationally. Upon returning to Canada, she completed her Master of Science in Elementary Education. Before moving overseas again she worked for several years as a Daycare administrator.
Mikki has taught internationally for 4 years, 1 year in Kuwait as a grade 1 teacher, and 3 years in Shanghai. During her time in Shanghai she taught kindergarten and grade 1. Her experience as a mother has given her a new perspective on teaching, since she is now a parent and a teacher. She feels it is a top priority to build strong relationships with parents to ensure that students get the most out of their education.
Mikki joined ISNS in 2018. She is very excited to be part of an amazing team of dedicated professionals who are committed to creating a caring, connected, and creative environment in which the students thrive.
