Grade 5 Homeroom Teacher
Sarah Cheng grew up in Canada and Hong Kong. She graduated with a MA in Child Study and Education from the Jackman Institute of Child Study at the University of Toronto. Sarah conducted her research in the developmental trajectory of “grit” in children. Upon completing her BAH in Psychology and Global Development Studies at Queen’s University, she co-founded a grassroots mentorship and character-building program for migrant children in Shanghai, serving over 150 children and families.
Prior to joining ISNS, she had taught and interned for four years in various public, private, and IB schools from Kindergarten to Grade 5 in Shanghai, Toronto, and Hong Kong.
Sarah is passionate about community building and encourages her students to develop their capacity to empathize for others and become compassionate agents of change in the local and global community. Sarah enjoys playing basketball, hiking, baking, traveling, and meeting people from all walks of life.
