Grade 3 Team Leader and Homeroom Teacher
Thomas Tucker was born and raised in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. Thomas completed his Bachelor of Business and Administration Degree at the University of New Brunswick. Once Thomas finished his first degree, he moved to South Korea where he rediscovered his love of learning and found a passion for teaching. Thomas ended up spending the next eight years teaching English as a Second Language to a wide variety of students. This passion lead to Thomas earning a Bachelor of Education Degree from Acadia University, a Masters of Education degree from the University of New Brunswick and his TESOL certification.
Thomas has enjoyed teaching various grades at ISNS and is happy to be teaching Grade 3. Thomas believes in maintaining children’s natural curiosity through creating a safe learning environment that promotes inquiry into the world around us. Thomas aims to make every student see the value they bring to the class through developing a community of empowered learners.
When not in the classroom, Thomas enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with his family. He also has a passion for many sports, especially basketball and baseball. He hopes to continue his involvement with the athletic scene at ISNS this year.
