ISNS Student Council
Students will elect a Student Council from grade 6-12 classrooms during the first month of school. The Student Council Representatives are chosen from this group. They meet regularly and will have input into planning and organizing special events and activities designed to promote school spirit and school pride. They also serve as student liaisons to the Administration Team.
ISNS Peer Mentors and Phoenix Friends
The ISNS Phoenix Friends (G4-5) and ISNS Peer Mentors (G6-12) are student groups that volunteer their time to help others within the school and outside in our local community. These students are given a variety of responsibilities including helping tutor their peers, helping younger students with activities, and organizing charity events. Students in these groups learn how to handle the responsibility and joy of helping others, time management, and taking a mentoring role.
At ISNS we believe in teaching students about service to others. Our students are contributing members of our school community as well as the community at large. ISNS partners with several community organizations such as the Sunshine Academy and Captivating International. Students conduct fundraisers to support these groups as well as providing time and resources.
ACAMIS and PRC Athletics
Middle and High School students are encouraged to participate in inter-school matches and tournaments in a variety of sports, such as Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Rugby, Badminton, Table Tennis, etc. These events are hosted by ACAMIS (The Association of China and Mongolia International Schools) and PRC (Pearl River Conference) member schools. The majority of costs for these trips are covered by the school; however, we may ask that parents cover transportation costs if travel is outside of the Guangdong Provincial area.
