ISNS First to Test New Virtual Reality Product "VIVEFOCUS" Before Industry Experts

May 25, 2018, Shenzhen, China – VIVE, state-of-the-art virtual reality (VR) brand, ambassadors unveiled the new VIVEFOCUS tech-ware to International School of Nanshan Shenzhen (ISNS) VR students on campus yesterday, May 25, 2018.
The demonstration pre-empted the release of the product to industry experts taking place today at the 2018 Vive Ecosystem Conference (VEC) in Shenzhen, China.
In the age of cordless headphones, it was only a matter of time before Virtual Reality headsets eliminated wiring and opted for standalone headpieces. Introducing the VIVEFOCUS. ISNS students were able to test the new-age technology and the flexibility that comes with the cord-free device, while also experiencing 6 degrees of freedom. Not only does the experience of the VIVEFOCUS allow you to look side to side, up and down, it also enables motion; walking forward, backward, and sideways.
“The VIVEFOCUS introduces the registration of space and distance. Imagine reaching forward and seeing your hand try and pick up a pen – the VIVEFOCUS has made the perceived impossible, possible!” Ms. Paola Paulino, Director of VR/AR Immersive Education, President and Founder of the Global VR/AR Association- Shenzhen Chapter, and ISNS’s very own XR Pioneer explained.
Following the VIVE team’s product showcase, the ISNS tech-savvy student community took the opportunity to reveal the incredible steps our technology integration team have taken to incorporate virtual reality into the curriculum.
Creating storylines from scratch, students took their vision and transported it into design software, Adobe Photoshop. Ms. Paulino explained, “students transitioned their 2D designs into 3D imagery using Tinkercad,” she continued, “…they then took these concept ideas to the next level, giving them full spatial design in the virtual reality program, Tiltbrush.”
Our VR specialists recently pioneered the creation of storybooks using the applications TINKERCAD, Google Tiltbrush and VIVEPAPER editor.
The end product? Stories shifted into the virtual sphere through VIVEPAPER; the first of its kind where simultaneously augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) work as one.
Through QR codes, the headset tracks the coding on a 2-page manila folder "VIVEPAPER" and form a virtual book – like magic – readers are able to use hand gestures to turn the page and immerse themselves in the stories. The program takes the reader experience to another [virtual] world.
“I am excited to see my VR students take to expressing their creativity and bringing their imaginations to life through this medium,” says Ms. Paolino. “It's been an incredible journey seeing their readers experience the students immersive worlds throughout the year as well as taking part in events such as Shenzhen Makerfaire, the largest in Asia.”
