Susan is an MYP and DP English teacher. Susan is from London, Ontario and graduated from the University of Toronto with an honors BA in English and History.
After completing her teacher training in Edinburgh, Scotland, she moved to Vancouver, Canada and completed three additional teaching certificates. She has a Special Education teaching qualification from Queens University, she is a certified Orton-Gillingham tutor through Surrey College and became a licensed Educational Therapist from National Institute of Learning Development. For eight years, Susan taught grade 8-12 English at a private school in Vancouver which specialized in Language-based learning disabilities and Executive Functioning disorders. While there she ran the student council and their outdoor education program. In 2017 Susan taught aboard "Class Afloat", a Canadian high school located on a Dutch tall ship. While teaching grade 11 to first-year University students, Susan sailed to 21 countries over a nine-month period.
In 2018 Susan moved to Liuzhou, Guangxi where she taught grade 12 English at a British Columbia offshore school and became a certified IELTS instructor. While in Liuzhou Susan started a school debate team and created and implemented a school wide IELTS curriculum. She is excited to part of a dynamic, caring community here at ISNS.
