This year’s theme evolved from a cut-paper concept that elicits a fairy-tale like feel. Students made it their own as they shared and responded to each other’s ideas.

I enjoyed collaborating with people and negotiating on what type of style we would use. I really had fun creating the layered texture of the theme and I wanted everyone to experience that. I’m very glad that we ended up with a yearbook that surrounds this style. It was also enjoyable looking through pictures of the year as if I reflects on how I went through those days or events. I’m quite involved with school (plus it is my senior year) so it was precious for me to sort out these events and reflect back, seeing how much I grew.

From the yearbook club, I enjoyed developing new skills in graphic design. Before joining the 2019-2020 yearbook club, I did not know how to create a paper cut effect, but after joining the yearbook club, I became more familiar with creating them. Overall, I am glad that I took a further step to learn more about graphic designing through Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.

I really enjoyed the design process in general. Even it is not for class, the design cycle we learned in MYP design class really helped the progress. I enjoyed getting inspired by other people's work and create artistic layouts from my imagination while trying to keep the style consistent with that of other pages.
