Grade 8 Exploring and Experiencing Yunnan, China
For their week without walls ISNS grade 8 students traveled northwest toward Yunnan. They visited Shaxi where students organized and ran different games and activities at a local primary school and concluded with an authentic cultural performance in an outdoor theatre. Also, students engaged in enhancing or learning new skills in dancing, cooking, cycling and wood carving. They took on the challenge of hiking the well-known Tiger Leaping Gorge and experienced awe-inspiring views as well as being invited to join a local wedding celebration. They ended their time in LiJiang exploring unique heritage sites and preparing to return home to share all that they learned and experienced.
It was great to be outside in nature and experiencing something different!
From my perspective, it was a very meaningful experience.
