Grade 9 serve and explore Southern Vietnam
For their week without walls, our grade 9 students went southwest to learn and explore Southern Vietnam. Students spent time in the historic city of Ho Chi Minh, where they learned about its history and added new culinary skills for making Vietnamese rolls. Our students worked alongside one another as they took on the tough task of laying the foundations for a new home as part of their service project and learned how to make traditional Vietnamese hats. They also had an informative discussion with the Red Cross and took on more learning as they planted rice with local farmers, created calligraphy art and experienced the Cu Chi tunnels and their importance in Vietnamese history. Our students were able to experience a new culture and broaden their international mindedness along with serving alongside the local communities to help make life better.
