Amin is originally from Singapore. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Physics and minoring in Chemistry. He obtained his teaching qualification from the National Institute of Education (Singapore) before beginning his career as a Math and Science teacher with Singapore’s Ministry of Education. He later pursued a Master of Education in Advanced Teaching from the University of the People in partnership with the IB and is currently working towards a Doctorate in Education.

Amin has been with the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen since 2018. Before moving to China, he taught at one of the top international schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. He has been a DP Physics teacher since 2011 and constantly strives to improve his teaching practices. Amin is an IB Workshop and Programme Leader, as well as an IB World Studies Extended Essay and Physics examiner.

He strongly believes that 21st-century educators must equip students with strong information literacy skills, helping them critically evaluate the vast amounts of information at their fingertips. Amin integrates technology and digital literacy into his lessons, ensuring students engage in practical activities that reinforce their conceptual understanding. 

Beyond academics, Amin values building strong student-teacher relationships and holds dear the saying, "People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care."

In his free time, Amin enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
