Daniel is an experienced South African educator. Before moving into education, he worked for the Department of Veterinary Services in South Africa. Now, he is a passionate primary years teacher and has been living in China since 2019.
Daniel is deeply passionate about the IB philosophy and the way it nurtures inquiry, independence, and international-mindedness in young learners. He believes in creating a learning environment where students feel safe, seen, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. He is especially committed to helping children develop essential ATL skills and learner profile attributes that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
Working with primary students is something he finds incredibly rewarding—they are open, curious, and full of potential. For him, it’s a privilege to guide them through this stage of their learning journey.
Outside of the classroom, Daniel is a husband and father who enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, music, fitness, and spending time with friends.
