Fiona Zhang has been the Mandarin teacher at ISNS since 2015. She grew up in north China. After graduating with a Bachelor`s Degree in Chinese Language and Literature, she determined to explore the dynamic culture of South China. She continued her studies and obtained her Master’s degree in Chinese Literature and Literary Theory.

Before joining ISNS, Fiona had worked in international primary, secondary, and higher-education settings.  After obtaining her Master’s degree, she began her career at BNU-HKBU United International College in Zhuhai, spending several years there and discovering her life-long passion for education. In order to stay closer to her family,  she moved to Shenzhen and spent two more years teaching Chinese in an IB PYP international school. 

She holds a Chinese-teaching certificate for senior-high students and believes that life is experience, that we are all life-long learners and inquirers.She is committed to creating a positive, inquiry-based classroom where children can learn joyfully and become the best versions of themselves. Proud to teach at ISNS—an IB World School—she is confident that dedicated teachers and students will continue to propel ISNS forward. Besides teaching, she also enjoys reading, swimming, listening to music, and gardening.
