Kevin is from St. John's, Canada, and holds degrees in Russian Language/Literature and Geophysics from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). Kevin most recently taught Middle School Science in Shenzhen, serving as a Grade 4 homeroom teacher for two years.
In addition to his normal classwork Kevin has created after school programs for science learning and led robotics weeks and electives. Kevin is a believer in project-based learning and takes immense pleasure in watching students learn new technical skills and bridging them with their natural curiosity to create something unique. Prior to teaching - Kevin was a professional geophysicist doing mineral/geothermal energy exploration. This work taught him the value of patience and determination, along with a commitment to detail when doing precise work.
Kevin is a busy father and he enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, hockey, and squash. He is an enthusiastic reader as well, spending as much time with his e-reader as possible.
