Michelle Roycroft

MYP/DP English Language Acquisition Teacher

Michelle is an IB-certified teacher with over 20 years of experience in education. At ISNS, she teaches DP English B and MYP English Language Acquisition.

Her career began in Canada as a lecturer in Fine Arts, Gender Equality, and Social Justice before a passion for language and culture then led her to a second career in English teaching. Before moving to China in 2017, Michelle lived in the United States for a decade, where she founded and managed her own language and cross-cultural training company where she provided ESL, cross-cultural, and accent modification training to expatriate professionals and their families.

Michelle has spent the past five years at ISNS, passionately supporting students through their IB Diploma journey. An avid traveler, she has visited more than 33 countries; China is the fourth country she has called home.

A lifelong learner, Michelle holds an MA and a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal and is CELTA-certified. She also holds additional professional certifications in IB development and is a 200-hour trained yoga instructor. Her qualifications are further enriched by her exposure to diverse cultures, her experience living and working abroad, and her ongoing efforts to advance her French, Spanish, and Mandarin language skills.
