As the IB Diploma Program (DP) is a rigorous and demanding curriculum, students need to maintain certain requirements in DP Year 1 (Grade 11) to continue on in the Full Diploma Programme in Year 2 (Grade 12). If these requirements are not met, students will continue in the DP Certificate Stream instead of the Full Diploma Programme Stream for Grade 12. These requirements are the same as those set by IBO, and are the requirements needed in order to obtain an IB diploma.
The requirements to continue the Full DP in Grade 12 are:
CAS requirements have been met and CAS Coordinator supports admission into DP Year 2
EE requirements have been met and EE supervisor supports admission into DP Year 2
TOK requirements have been met and TOK teacher supports admission into DP Year 2. If students are showing progress towards meeting these expectations but are not currently meeting them, they might be considered to be academically at risk and be placed on a contract for term 1 of Grade 12 before final pathway decisions are made.
Students who have between 24 - 26 points at the end of Grade 11 are considered to be academically at risk/not in good academic standing. They will be placed on an academic contract if they choose not to modify their pathway.
The student obtains a minimum score of 24 points from their 6 courses on their final report card of Grade 11
There is no grade 1 awarded in a subject/level
There are no more than two grade 2’s awarded (HL or SL)
There are no more than three grade 3’s or below awarded (HL or SL)
